MCCSL offers a Sunday Morning Youth Program with classes for all children during our adult services. Class begins at 10:30am and are coordinated by Keri & Steve Cable. Every class has one teacher and one assistant to work with the children. Choir practice meets before class at 10am with Linda Shoun and Ryan Gill. Near the closing of each adult service, the children are brought into the sanctuary to share what they learned in class and to participate in the closing song and affirmation with the entire congregation.
The children's curriculum is based on Science of Mind principles, taken from the teachings of Ernest Holmes. The program is designed to inspire and support children in recognizing and celebrating their own unique Divine Nature. By nurturing the creative individuality of each child, the principles of Science of Mind are easily embodied.
Through the process of social interaction and having fun, they are reminded that they are the Perfect Presence of Love, Light, Peace, Power, Joy, Beauty and Wisdom. Each class focuses on a specific lesson that pertains to positive affirmation, affirmative prayer and the basics of the Science of Mind teaching.
The lessons are experienced through a variety of activities, which include expressive arts, games, meditation, and group reflection.
Please come and join us on Sunday mornings. We would be blessed with your child’s presence and creative sharing.
Steve and Keri have been married for almost 18 years and have 3 children - Clark, 17; Frankie, 12 and Austin, 9. Originally from California, they were teachers of the Children's Program at another Center For Spiritual Living Center in Temecula Valley. They have lived in Nashville for the past 6 years where they taught another Children's Program at a local New Thought Church. They have now made MCCSL their spiritual home.
Both are passionate about introducing New Thought concepts to children and believe they can positively impact their lives into a life that is loving, purposeful and fulfilling. They love to use interactive activities, make it fun and experiential to help engage the children. They also enjoy boating, children's sports and activities and look forward to participating in many regional and national youth retreats. We are so grateful and excited to have this incredible family working with our kids!!
