Tim Bays is a speaker, humorist and musical presenter who uses songs and stories to entertain, elevate and inspire. He has shared concert bills with artists ranging from Sarah Vaughn to Arlo Guthrie. He's a successful songwriter with recordings by Randy Travis and Peter, Paul & Mary.

In addition he has created ads and motivational themes for such companies as GE, Duke Power and Sara Lee, as well as being a recognizable voice in commercials for companies like Coca Cola, Goodyear and McDonalds. He has appeared on ABC, TNN, PBS, CBS, CMT and in 2005 was featured on the TV special "A Wisdom Christmas - The Gift Of Song" on the DISH Network.

The 3-Legged Dog and Other Tales

I have a dog, Shumway, with only three useable legs, a fact she utterly disregards. Being three-legged doesn't stop her from playing tug-of-war or catch-me-if-you can, harassing the cat, getting on the couch, begging (VERY effectively) or being happy in the moment. Apparently she doesn't think of herself as challenged and making an excuse of her limitation has simply never occurred to her. This goes a step (no pun intended) beyond overcoming adversity into saying "what adversity?" I asked my wife, Barbara, how Shumway had adapted so well and she said, "I guess nobody told her she couldn't!"
